Love, Joy And Peace

Scripture References: Romans 14:17, John 14:27, Romans 5:5, John 16:22, 1 Thessalonians 4:3  Perfect love, joy and peace cannot be produced or generated by a human being. Man is only capable of receiving and giving these. The amount he can receive from other human beings is limited because all of us give it in a limited way. But we can receive perfect love, joy and peace from God in unlimited quantities. However the more we give to others the less we are left with. Therefore we need to draw from a source that is unlimited. If we only give without drawing from God than over a period of time we will get empty and burn out. ( the excitement in us immediately after a retreat and what happens after a few weeks is an experience all of us have gone through ) The love, joy and peace of God is pure. This is what man was filled with when he was created. But after the encounter with Satan everything changed. It began as a mere harmless conversation. The poison of unbelief was injected insid

FAQ's -Basic Knowledge For Evangelization

FAQ's -Basic Knowledge For Evangelization If you met an unbeliever who wanted to know about Jesus how would you begin? Who is Jesus? Jesus is the son of God who came to earth and became man to tell us about the love of God and how sin had broken our relationship with him. He then offered himself as a sacrifice on the cross to obtain forgiveness for our sins. As proof that his sacrifice was accepted God raised him from the dead, took him to heaven and made him king over heaven and earth.  Now everyone who believes in Jesus, repents and is baptized receives complete forgiveness of all sins and his relationship as a child of God is restored and he is rewarded with eternal life. (John 3:16, Acts 2:22-24, 1:3, 1:9-11, 4:12, Philippians 1:9-11, Acts 2:38) What happens when our relationship with God is restored? When our relationship with God is restored we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit as our divine personal helper to be with us to teach, guide, remind, inspire a

Soul And Body - Life in all its abundance

Man the being is unity of both the spiritual and the physical. Proper understanding of both these dimensions will help us locate the root causes of our problems much more easily and correctly.  Man has two dimensions to his being i.e. soul and body . The soul is that dimension of man which consists of two faculties - mind and heart.  The mind is the place of the intellect . It enables to react or respond to events or happenings. It can think, reason, know, understand, memorize, recall, create, plan, visualize, etc. The heart is the deepest part or core of the soul.  From here arise all the desires . This is also the seat of emotions .  Emotions are feelings corresponding to reactions or responses of the mind.  This is the place where one  exercises  one's will to make serious, permanent and irrevocable decisions or choices. Various other examples how the word heart is used: ( e.g. from the heart means from the core or depth, keep in the heart means to treat as very i

Blessings And Curses

Blessings And Curses    - Another Perspective The verses in the book of Exodus 20:5-6 are one of the most controversial in the Bible. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the  Lord  your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,  but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation  of those who love me and keep my commandments. These verses if understood literally contradict the God of Love as revealed to us by Jesus. How can the God who offered His own beloved Son punish someone for somebody else' wrong doings? Scripture will never contradict itself. If it seems to do as in the above case than we need to look beyond the apparent.  It is an accepted fact of life that one generation inherits from the previous generations. The inheritance can be good and cause joy or it can be evil and cause suffering. Besides material things we also inherit body features, b
